Nomsa Kamanga

Nomsa Kamanga is a young Zambian woman currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Environment and Sustainability at Catawba College in the USA. Nomsa is an enthusiastic and goal-driven individual with a passion for wildlife conservation and the well-being of the people that live with natural resources. Her work with the Zambian Carnivore Programme from 2019 to 2021 was the foundation of her passion for conservation and inspired her to pursue further studies in understanding the relationship between people and animals in the same area.

With a minor in Geographic Information Systems and a concentration in community-based natural resources management, Nomsa aims to bring new ideas and perspectives to the field of conservation. Her long-term goal is to promote young women's education and empower women in the conservation sector. Nomsa believes that the involvement of women in conservation is critical for the success of conservation efforts, as women play a vital role in managing natural resources and have a unique perspective on conservation issues.
